Why More Businesses Need to Consult Process Engineers
Whether it be moving documents between departments, stocking shelves, or even making sandwiches, many businesses have processes that can be refined. These processes are often inefficient, can produce waste, and use up valuable time and resources – particularly in the case of bad sandwich making. So, what’s the solution? Consult a process engineer. Unfortunately, many businesses do not consult a process engineer because they don’t even know that they should. Check out our Process engineering jobs

Corrosion Engineering: a Fascinating, Little-Known Career Option
Technically speaking, corrosion is the gradual destruction of materials by a chemical or electrochemical reaction with their environment. Although it is commonly believed that corrosion is only associated with metals, they are not the only materials susceptible to it. Non-metallic materials, including plastics and glass, can also corrode.

5 Ways the Internet of Things Can Change Modern Engineering
When you mention the Internet of Things (IoT) and how it applies to engineering, most people’s thoughts turn to the manufacturing industry. Undoubtedly, the use of internet-enabled devices that link up, communicate and work with each other will revolutionise factory work. It will make assembly line processes more streamlined and cost-efficient. But, there are also plenty of uses for IoT technology in the traditionally, more ‘manual’ environments of construction and infrastructure projects. It’s estimated that IoT will have an economic impact of $6.2 trillion by 2025.

The Future of Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering that deals with the design and construction of buildings, roads, bridges, and other large-scale structures. It has existed since the first human settlement and has advanced with the construction of large projects such as the Pont du Gard in France and the Great Wall in China. More recently, emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and nanotechnologies have been making shockwaves in numerous fields, civil engineering included. Continue reading below for more details on the future of the civil engineering field.

Inventory of hazardous substances in container vessels: another necessary but bureaucratic burden for carriers
The European Union (EU) is working very hard to make ship recycling greener and safer in the future. It is quite clear that the dismantling of ships in many parts of South Asia in its current state is not acceptable, either from an environmental or a social point of view. Ship recycling regulations, adopted seven years ago, are finally gathering pace now. In particular, the regulation firstly prohibits or restricts the installation and use of hazardous materials such as asbestos or ozone depleting substances on board ships.

Freight container market needs a two-year recovery period
The COVID-19 crisis has hit hard enough and continues to affect the global container shipping market. The current economic situation does not give much hope for a short-term recovery of this market. Demand for container shipments has fallen sharply, especially as China closed much of its plants in February 2020. The volume of production or cargo to be exported to other countries plummeted. The situation was exacerbated by a number of restrictions and requirements in almost every industry and in the world's ports.

What is Singularity?
Singularity is a concept that began as a way to describe a mathematical phenomenon. In mathematics, it refers to a point where a mathematical object or point in a function set, begins to behave in an unusual, undefined or chaotic way. For instance, the function f(x) = 1/x becomes undefined at x=0, the function becomes plus or minus infinity, so this point is known as the singularity of the function. Keeping this mathematical construct in mind, this article will explore the use of singularity in mechanics and the more recent concept of ‘technological singularity’.

Depressione e ansia al campus universitario
In recent years, an epidemic has enveloped university campuses across the world - and it's not the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Compared to any other generation of college students in history, current students experience more mental health issues than ever before. Some reports suggest that 35% of freshers in American universities experience anxiety disorders - and this percentage is compounded by the fact that, terrifyingly, nearly 10% of students have considered suicide in the previous twelve months. Since the 1950s, rates of suicides on American campuses have tripled, and it’s now the second most common cause of death among students. In the United Kingdom alone, a student commits suicide every four days.

The Role of Environmental Engineers in the Fight Against Air Pollution
Air pollution is increasing at a rapid rate across the world, wreaking havoc with the environment and the health of humans. In fact, every year an estimated 4.2 million people die globally every year as a result of exposure to outdoor air pollution, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The rapid increase in pollution can, in part, be attributed to the swift economic development enjoyed in many areas across the globe.
