Industrial engineers are the only engineering professionals trained specifically to be productivity- and quality-improvement specialists.
You Will Learn
Industrial engineers learn to apply human and material resources to efficiently and profitably make a product or provide a service. Students in Gannon University’s industrial engineering (IE) program can choose one of six concentrations offered in the program. They are:
economics and financial systems
ergonomics and human factors
international industrial engineering
supply chain and logistics systems
The IE program allows students the flexibility to collaborate with other areas on campus, such as mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, the Dahlkemper School of Business, the Small Business Development Center and the Erie Technology Incubator. This program will teach students to become leaders in IE as they learn key components of the field, such as designing efficient and safe working environments.
You Will Experience
The curriculum will prepare graduates to design, develop, implement and improve integrated systems using appropriate analytical, computational and experimental practices. Students who graduate from this program will have the background to obtain an engineering position in industry, enter an IE or engineering management graduate program, or earn a Master of Business Administration. All graduating seniors will qualify to take the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam, which is the first step toward professional licensure. Students are also encouraged
