Quality Engineer

Hello, My client in Southend on Sea is in need of a Quality Engineer. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The purpose of the role is to inspect products produced. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Mechanical inspection of parts and assemblies, • Functional testing of assembled items of equipment, • Participation in Material Review Board activities, • Assist with the establishment of resolutions for product quality issues, • Develop and implement quality control plans and product quality standards, • Participate in product and process improvement activities as required, • Participate in product development and qualification activities as required, • Establish and approve effective corrective action plans, • Creation and maintenance of CNC Co-ordinate Measuring Machine Programs, • To assist with the identification of training and development needs of employees and to further assist with the delivery of training as required, • To carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant as required, • Abide by specific internally established control systems and authorities, to lead by personal example and encourage all employees to conduct their activities in accordance with all applicable laws and the Company’s standards and policies, including its environmental, safety and health policies. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: • English, Maths and Science GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C or above are essential. • 4 years’ experience working within an aerospace environment, and able to use all types of basic measuring equipment are required. • Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft operating system, Microsoft Office suite and have a practical approach to solutions. • The ability to work independently, whilst collaborating in a team environment and able to work under pressure and to deadlines are essential requirements. DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: • A recognised industry Apprenticeship, previous experience working within a quality role and knowledge of mechanical inspection would be advantageous. • A full, clean UK driving licence, and available to visit suppliers / customers if required would be desirable.
