Post title - Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Post Definition/Purpose
You will be part of a small motivated Maintenance team Maintaining all site plant equipment including Automated power presses, Automated robot assembly lines, conveyor systems, resistance welding lines and clinching equipment. Potential for technical candidates to train up to the position.
Key Responsibilities
Promote a culture of working safely by working in a safe manner at all times complying with company Health & Safety and environmental standards.
Attend breakdowns as a priority, getting equipment up and running in the shortest time possible to the correct safety and quality standards, utilising your electrical and mechanical skills.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities, for example submitting suggestions to improve the process flow to increase the production cell efficiency or improve health & safety on the shop-floor.
Support 5s activities throughout the Production Departments.
To follow instructions to ensure maximum effectiveness and to adhere to safety guidelines.
Actively participate in training and development activities identified for either personal and/or team development advancement.
Work as part of a small team with minimal supervision reporting directly to the maintenance manager.
Carrying permanent corrective work out after production to ensure faults don’t reoccur.
Identifying and carrying out improvements to equipment to improve quality and/or efficiency.
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on equipment and site facilities.
Maintaining site services – e.g. heating, water system, drainage, security.
To get involved in any projects/improvements as necessary.
Assist/train production operatives with operational issues.
PLC interrogation/fault finding (Omron, Mitsubishi)
Enthusiastic – must react to breakdowns and requests for help positively.
Willing to learn on own initiative – training courses can be provided but will be expected to put theory into practice and also learn by reference to manuals, contacting equipment suppliers and shadowing existing staff.
Skills & Abilities
Previous busy factory/manufacturing experience is desirable.
Willingness to multi-skill and learn products and processes.
Ability to problem solve.
Excellent literacy and numeracy.
Electrical installations to 18th edition regs. Or equivalent is desirable.
Resistance welding techniques: understanding and programming of equipment for welding, as well as basic requirements for quality.
The competent use of machine shop/tool room equipment to perform repairs.
Safety systems and protection devices.
Able to manage own time and priorities where necessary.
Record all activities on CMMS.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience of working to deadlines and targets.
Logical fault finding approach through basic electrical and electronic principles, relay logic, PLC software interrogation (Omron/Mitsubishi), safety circuits and software (Plitz).
Experience of variable speed motor control systems. Inverter, Servo drives.
Previous experience in Automotive Manufacturing would be advantageous.
Must have an excellent time and attendance record.
Minimum HNC in related discipline or relevant time served apprenticeship.
Patience when problems occur to explain route causes to operators clearly.
Approachable – operators, team leaders, and managers must feel person is approachable and will carry out requests.
Experience and understanding of the basic use of robotics and software integration.
Have a safe working approach.
Experience of coaching apprentices would be advantageous.
Flexible working approach including weekend working when required.
Package
25 days holiday (mostly fixed with plant shut downs) + 8 Bank holidays
37.5 hour week working Monday to Friday.

14:20pm – 22.30pm - Friday Job Type: Permanent. Salary: £28000 - £32000/annum 20% shift pay PM + paid overtime.
