Civil / Structural Design Engineer

CCL Global are currently recruiting STEC for the HS2 Project C2 - C3 who are looking for a civil / structural design engineer to join. They have two sites, one based in Brackley and the other based in Banbury. They have a construction support team on site who act like a design Interface team reviewing technical queries, clarification on design, etc. Location: Banbury OX16, Brackley NN13 7EL Contract/Permanent: Contract, Inside IR35 Key Duties will include: * Assisting in the establishing a team to deliver the service which will consist of sitebased designer’s representatives as well as office-based support. * Construction support consists of; - Responding to TQ’s / RFI’s / EWN’s for structural and associated assets. - Reviewing of Temporary Works structural related designs (only where it impacts permanent works) for integration with the permanent works design of structures. - Reviewing and acceptance of permanent works materials for structures * * Reviewing of fabrication details for integration with the permanent works of structures * Producing As-built records of structures assets * Contributing to Quarterly Reports to EKFB * Liaising with head office designers for answering major technical queries. * Ensuring Health and Safety within the ASC organization. * Monitoring and supporting the Site Support Team to ensure that EKFB are receiving the contractedfor services. * Maintaining consistency coordinating with other sections’ support engineers. * Liaising with the CSS manager the resource requirements to align with construction activities. * Meeting time – frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations. Requirements: * Minimum 5 years relevant experience on Design and Build projects dealing with structural (including viaducts, tunnels and bridges) issues and resolving them, preferably on rail projects or other linear projects of similar nature. * Demonstrated proficiency in the English language, both speaking and writing. * Chartered status preferred. * BSc / BEng with an emphasis in structural engineering The Construction Support Engineer (Structural), CSS has the following wider skills / knowledge: * Interpersonal and team-building skills * Supporting of managers * Decision-making and providing clear direction. * Good communication skills * Good coordination skills Job Type: Contract. Salary: £55 - £60/hour negotiable pay rate.
