Position Summary
A well-established, multi-office civil engineering and land development consulting firm is seeking a Project Manager to lead site/civil land development projects from early concept through permitting and construction support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client-facing leadership position, enjoys owning project outcomes, and can balance technical excellence with schedule and financial performance.
You’ll oversee complex projects across a fast-growing metropolitan region, guide internal teams, and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring high-quality deliverables and predictable execution.
What You’ll Do
- Manage end-to-end delivery for land development projects, including planning, design, permitting, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients; set expectations and drive proactive communication.
- Lead and develop a team of engineers and designers, including mentoring junior project managers.
- Oversee project financials: contracts, invoicing, scope changes, and forecasting.
- Represent projects in public meetings/hearings, community sessions, and client presentations as needed.
- Partner with office leadership on business development, account growth, and strategic pursuits.
- Promote strong QA/QC, process improvement, and consistent technical standards.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
- 10+ years of experience in civil/site design and permitting for land development projects.
- Demonstrated success managing project delivery, consultants, and client relationships.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Experience managing budgets, staffing plans, contracts, and change management.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater/drainage design tools.
- PE license preferred (or ability to obtain, depending on state requirements).
