Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Manchester
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000+

About the Role:

Our client, a highly successful and established engineering consultancy, is seeking a talented Senior Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Manchester. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of exciting, unique, and challenging projects across various sectors, including sport and leisure, healthcare, education, workplace, residential, and more.

 

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting senior staff, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to business development. You will be involved in project management duties such as budget management, client engagement, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support senior staff with the delivery of engineering projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, providing technical expertise and career development support.
  • Contribute to business development, actively supporting the growth of the consultancy’s brand and client base.
  • Conduct site visits and produce detailed reports.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and client relationships.
  • Produce high-quality civil engineering designs for feasibility, costing, and construction purposes.
  • Work on a variety of projects including highways, drainage, street works, public works, SUDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems), building drainage, and more.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (essential).
  • Chartered status (ideal), or close to achieving Chartered status (within 6 months). Support will be provided for those close to achieving this.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools, including Civil 3D, Flow/Micro-Drainage, and TEDDS.
  • Strong technical background in civil engineering design and project management.
  • Experience in managing a variety of civil engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and team collaboration.
