PRINCIPAL CIVIL/STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Our client is seeking a Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer to join the Building Engineering Team within their Newark office.

The team works across diverse sectors, including residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, and more. They focus on balancing sustainability, cost, and constructability, using digital tools to bring designs to life from concept to delivery.

Your Role:
You’ll support the team Director, manage design/drawing production, and contribute to the successful technical delivery of projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with the team and delegating tasks
• Mentoring junior colleagues and providing technical guidance
• Attending client meetings and assisting with site inspections
• Managing high-quality design output and ensuring BIM compliance
• Overseeing project budgets, time management, and preparing fee proposals
• Validating design models and producing detailed technical reports

About You:

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Masters preferred)
• Chartered or working towards Chartered status
• Solid experience in design, drawing, and modelling software
• Strong technical knowledge of legislation and standards
• Good commercial awareness and project management experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong communication skills
