About the Opportunity:

We’re representing a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy known for delivering complex transportation infrastructure projects across the Northeast. Their New York City office is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to take on a technical leadership role within their bridge design group.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to step into a client-facing role, manage key projects, and mentor junior staff, while working on some of the region's most critical bridge rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural analysis and design for bridge superstructures (steel & prestressed concrete) and substructures (including pile foundations).

  • Manage field inspections for rehabilitation and reconstruction bridge projects, ensuring compliance with design and safety standards.

  • Oversee preparation of construction documents including plans, details, quantity calculations, cost estimates, and technical specifications.

  • Review and respond to RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals during the construction phase.

  • Coordinate with internal design teams, clients, contractors, and public agencies to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineering staff.

  • Support project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (NY preferred).

  • 8-12 years of bridge engineering experience, ideally within New York or surrounding states.

  • Proven experience in bridge design (rehabilitation & reconstruction), structural analysis, and construction support services.

  • Strong proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., MIDAS, CSI Bridge, SAP2000).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

  • Prior experience working with public agencies (e.g., NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ) is a strong plus.

What’s on Offer:

  • Competitive base salary between $140,000 and $160,000.

  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, 401(k) match, and performance bonuses.

  • Opportunity to work on high-visibility infrastructure projects across the NYC metro area.

  • Defined career progression path into Project Management and Technical Leadership.

  • Supportive and collaborative office culture with a focus on professional development.

Employment Type: Permanent. Sector: Civil & Structural. Salary Description: $140,000-$160,000.
