Project Engineer

Our client is a global leader in engineering with offices throughout Ireland. At present they are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join their Highways and Transportation division, based in their Dublin office.
The ideal candidate will have multidisciplinary project management, planning, and technical design experience and will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and eager to take on responsibility. You should be comfortable working within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects across a range of sectors, including Energy, Rail, Active Travel, and Highways. We seek individuals who can effectively communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate deliverables across multi-disciplinary teams on projects.
- Make technical decisions and review technical reports produced by others.
- Ensure the compliance and suitability of deliverables from other teams with respect to the overall project scope.
- Manage the design and/or planning process, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Prepare internal and external project progress reports.
- Develop and regularly update project development plans and charters.
- Chair meetings and take minutes during client, stakeholder, and project team meetings.
- Ensure high-quality standards are maintained across all projects.
Desirable Skills & Attributes:
- A degree qualification in engineering.
- Design experience working within a consultancy environment.
- Chartered status or nearing Chartership.
- Experience in delivering multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects across Ireland.
- Knowledge of the full project development cycle, from feasibility studies and preliminary design to planning, detailed design, tender preparation, and contract administration.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work independently to meet project objectives.
- Proven ability to manage multiple teams and simultaneous deliverables across various projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project (or similar scheduling software).
- Technical design experience and strong writing skills.
- High attention to detail, particularly in preparing and reviewing complex planning documents and drawings.
- Full driving license.
