Principal Structural Design Engineer

Are you an experienced structural design engineer looking to work at a principal level?
Our client has an industry leading team and are looking to bring in a principal engineer who is hard working and driven.
They specialise in interesting projects across a range of sectors including residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, advanced manufacturing, data centres, energy and more.
As Principal Structural Design Engineer you would assist the Associate Director / Director in management of structural engineering team and manage projects. You would take financial responsibility for your own projects, be consistent and accurate in preparing fee quotations and final invoicing. You would manage staff and work in further developing the team of engineers and technicians. You would be working in collaboration with senior stakeholders and clients which includes site visits and undertaking structural surveys, investigations, and repair schemes for structures.
To be considered for this role, you will most likely have a degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering and will ideally be chartered with ICE, or IStructE or equivalent or progressing towards chartership. Additionally, you would be experienced in the design of foundations, masonry, concrete including detailing, steel and timber structures.
You would be able to show your experience in the residential market including traditional construction as well as framed structures. You would have strong market commercial awareness with knowledge in financial management of projects, development of clients and ability to assist in the project appointment process.
Preferably you would be experienced in structural investigation and reporting in relation to ‘Building Safety Act’ and be familiar with Tekla software (Tekla designer and Tedds) and ideally with AutoCAD/Revit.
