Image Analysis in Medicine Lab (IAMLAB) Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science
The Image Analysis in Medicine Lab (IAMLAB) is engaged in research and training programs that are focused on the design and implementation of image analysis and machine learning tools for medical imaging. The developed applications are used to improve diagnostic accuracy, glean new insights about disease processes and to recommend personalized therapies based on radiology and pathology imaging data. A strong focus of the lab is knowledge translation through collaboration with clinicians and industry.
IAMLAB invites applications for a one-year full-time Post-doctoral research position to work on projects in collaboration with our industry partners and clinicians. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The position requires a PhD degree in Electrical, Computer or Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Mining/ Machine Learning, or a closely related area. The successful candidate is expected to perform data analysis, develop algorithms, implement solutions and designs using state-of-the-art software programming tools, write publications, liaise with collaborators, work with a team of graduate and undergraduate students and other aspects of academic scholarship.
Candidates should have a strong background in software development, image analysis and machine learning applications involving big data, using Python, C++, OpenCV, Matlab and other related frameworks. Experience with state-of-the-art AI systems such as deep learning and convolutional neural networks, JPEG 2000, multi-resolution image processing, medical imaging/ viewing systems, databases, web technologies, and application integration using APIs/SDKs are a definite asset. The candidate should have an established track record of publishing in key journals, conferences and workshops, and ideally experience with industrial software systems, software management/version control (git), image processing, machine learning and medical imaging.
