What Are We Looking For? Saftronics is looking for a Control System Engineer to join us permanently within our Control Systems team, based in either our Warrington or Leeds office. A specialist business in the MCC and power control sector, you’ll work alongside an established team to deliver control system solutions to the water industry, including the management of asset replacements for control systems across the UK. Some of Your Key Duties Include: * Investigate and provide technical advice and support to the design, delivery and senior management teams on automation related issues * Operate according to SOP’s developed for design, software engineering, construction and commissioning. * Define the control system hardware and software requirements * Assist the electrical engineers with the development of robust Control Systems Architectures utilising appropriate technology in accordance with Client, WIMES and industrial standards * Provide specialist ICA assistance to the Engineer during the development of the Control Philosophy. * Be responsible for identifying the programme requirements to deliver Control System elements to achieve the project milestone dates. * Develop detailed Functional Design Specifications and associated schedules from the agreed Control Philosophy in accordance with the Company’s Quality procedures. * Develop and self-test control system software to achieve the required functionality in accordance with the FDS * Carry out workshop Factory Acceptance Testing against the FAT document in conjunction with the Commissioning Engineer. * Fully document, resolve and re-test any defects identified during testing * Provide specialist control system assistance to the Commissioning Teams within the workshop and on site What Do You Need? * Qualified to an HNC/HND/Degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline, such as Electrical or Electronics/Computer Sciences. * Demonstrable experience in managing systems integration, with any knowledge of PLC & SCADA Systems, site communications networks and telemetry systems highly advantageous. * Good time management, with the ability to multitask, plan and organise day-to-day workloads within a busy environment. * Innovative thinking, with an ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies. * Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. * Experience in the water industry is highly advantageous but other specialist engineering industries will be considered.
