DrebbeLogic are currently recruiting for an Automation Engineer to join a market leading organisation on an initial 12 month contract basis. Job summary: - To support and improve the various manufacturing processes around the site. - Provide process expertise along with key skills relating to Automation. Responsibilities: * Design / development of new or improved processes, systems, prototypes, components, materials, machinery, new products and equipment, in support of the manufacturing and packaging of products. * Support the engineering, maintenance and operations team. * Manage Automation Projects across site to deliver cost savings and improve machine performance. * Support New Product and Process introduction. * Identify opportunities to improve process capability, machine performance and uptime through Automation led initiatives. * Train and mentor the Automation Technicians. * Develop new systems and practices to enhance performance. * Support integration of new machinery/technology and products/materials. Qualifications required: - Degree in Engineering. Competencies required: * Experience in Automation / Controls Engineering, or similar manufacturing support role required. * Familiarity with Rockwell Automation Software family (RSLogix500, Control Logix 5000). * Knowledge and understanding of GAMP5, experience preferred. * Familiarity with batch manufacture, mixing, extrusion, plastic converting, and packaging. * Read/develop and follow technical proposals/plans. * Able to write in a concise fashion in order to document all pertinent data, develop basic plans, and present findings, including cost evaluations as needed. * Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement techniques. * Knowledge of Pharmaceutical or related industries would be an advantage. * Experience in developing and implementing CI initiatives internally and with suppliers.
