Our client, a small but growing engineering firm with offices in Leeds and Manchester, is looking to appoint an Associate Engineer to help build and expand their presence in Manchester. This company has a dedicated and experienced team across both offices, with a Technical Director, Technician focused on Civils, and an experienced Senior Structural Engineer.

As the Associate Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving business development and attracting new projects, while also applying your extensive experience in building design. This position is ideal for someone who is ambitious, entrepreneurial, and passionate about growing a business from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead building design projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality technical delivery.
• Develop strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors, building a solid reputation in the Manchester market.
• Drive business development by identifying opportunities, securing new clients, and managing proposals.
• Support the growth of the business in Manchester, working alongside the Technical Director and Senior Structural Engineer to expand the team.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff as the business grows.
• Collaborate closely with the Leeds office to align strategies and ensure cohesive growth.

Key Requirements:

• Extensive experience in building design, with a solid understanding of both technical and business aspects.
• Proven track record in business development and attracting new clients to the firm.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a small, collaborative team.
• Ambitious, entrepreneurial, and driven to succeed in a growing business.
• A desire to take ownership and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Manchester office.
• Ideally, experience in civil and structural engineering would be beneficial, but not essential.
