Job Title: Associate Director – Heavy Civils Projects
Location: Manchester, UK
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + £5,500 Car Allowance
Package: 10% Pension, 25 Days Annual Leave (Plus Bank Holidays), Flexible Benefits

We are working closely with a global engineering consultancy that has a strong reputation for delivering innovative and complex engineering solutions across multiple sectors, including defence, energy, water, and more. Their expertise lies within in heavy civil engineering, and they are looking for an experienced Chartered Engineer to join the Manchester office as an Associate Director.
The Role:
As Associate Director, you will play a pivotal role in delivering and managing high-profile heavy civil projects both in the UK and internationally. You will contribute to the growth of the business and help shape the brand’s presence in the industry. Your leadership will be key in mentoring junior engineers and expanding the team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. You will work on a wide range of challenging projects that span multiple sectors, ensuring the highest standards of quality, innovation, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the successful delivery of complex heavy civils projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Develop and implement strategies for business growth and brand development in the sector.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing career development and technical support.
- Manage project teams, ensuring efficient collaboration across disciplines.
- Engage with clients to build strong relationships, maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.
- Contribute to the technical and strategic direction of projects, delivering engineering solutions across a range of sectors, including defence, energy, and water.
Essential Requirements:
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a proven track record in delivering heavy civils projects.
- Extensive experience in managing and overseeing large-scale civils projects, ideally within the defence, energy, and water sectors.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Business development experience, including identifying opportunities and nurturing client relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
