The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padua is seeking excellent candidates to fill the following academic position:
Assistant Professor (tenure-track) (RTT) in Accounting (13/B1 – SECS-P/07 Economia Aziendale)

Qualifications and Requirements: According to the Italian legislation, eligible candidates must have obtained a PhD at the application date.
Job starting date: from December 2024 with flexibility depending on individual circumstances.
Job duration: the tenure-track entails a 6-year full-time contract. Tenure and promotion to Associate Professor is obtained upon the granting of the National Habilitation to Associate Professor (ANVUR).
Salary and Workload: The annual gross salary - net of employer-paid social security contributions – is in the range of approx. €36.000 - € 44.000, depending on seniority - corresponding to a monthly net (13 instalments) of approx. €1.950 - € 2.400. Whilst this is not negotiable, faculty members can obtain bi-annual increases upon meeting targets as defined by the University of Padua.

The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padua invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Accounting starting at the end of 2024/beginning of 2025. Applications by candidates of any nationality are welcome. Knowledge of English is a necessary requisite.
 
Profile
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or siblings’ disciplines obtained in Italy or abroad and preferably with relevant experience in prior positions making her/him eligible to apply for an ERC Starting Grant.
Applicants should provide evidence of a potential ability to publish in high quality scientific journals in the areas of accounting. Publications in journals ranked above β€˜3’ according to the AJG of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (ABS) and those ranked β€˜A’ according to the Italian Agency for the Assessment of Research Quality (ANVUR) are especially valued.
It will be preferred a teaching focus in financial or managerial accounting at the Bachelor, Master, or PhD levels either in Italian or English.  Teaching at recognized international institutions is particularly valued. Most of the teaching with be delivered at the Department of Economics.
The successful candidate must display an ability to work within national and international networks of scholars within their respective research clusters.
The Department particularly values the ability in securing research funding through competitive bids at the University or national level. Last, candidates should demonstrate a willingness in taking up service position at the Department level.
 
Job Description and Position
The position offered is Assistant-Professor in Accounting (scientific sector SECS-P/17 according to the Italian academic system). The position is tenure-track, full time, with a maximum teaching load of 90 contact hours per academic year. 
The annual gross salary - net of employer-paid social security contributions – is in the range of approx. €36.000 - € 44.000, depending on seniority. The salary is subject to employee-paid social security contributions and Italian income tax. About the Department
The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padova was founded in 1989 and counts over 2000 students and more than 75 faculty members conducting research in economics or business fields. In 2023 the dSEA was granted the EQUIS Accreditation. Since 2012, the University guide 'Grande Guida' ranks the Department among the top three institutions for teaching quality in the areas of Economics and Statistics. 
The Department ranked fourth in Italy in terms of research quality and productivity. Research carried out in accounting has been ranked third in Italy by the National independent agency (ANVUR).

c) evidence of a consolidated experience in working with international scholars and activism in widely recognized academic societies (e.g. AAA, EAA, APIRA, SIDREA, AIDEA etc..)
d) fluency in English is extremely valued.
