Job Summary:
A leading engineering and architecture firm is seeking a Structural Project Manager with 5-8 years of experience, particularly in inspections, renovations, and restoration projects for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings in NYC. The ideal candidate will lead structural investigations, oversee façade restorations, and manage structural rehabilitation projects, ensuring compliance with NYC building codes and landmark regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee multiple structural projects, including restoration, renovation, and new construction.
- Structural Inspections & Assessments: Conduct structural condition assessments, Local Law 11/FISP inspections, and forensic investigations for existing buildings.
- Structural Design & Rehabilitation: Develop repair solutions for deteriorated structural elements, façade stabilization, and foundation reinforcements.
- Construction Administration: Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and conduct site visits to ensure compliance with design intent.
- Client & Regulatory Coordination: Work closely with building owners, co-op boards, architects, and city agencies, including NYC DOB and LPC.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Experience: 5-8 years in structural engineering, with a focus on building inspections, restoration, and façade rehabilitation.
- Licensure: PE (Professional Engineer) license in NY required, SE preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, RAM), AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Experience:
- Local Law 11/FISP and historic restoration projects.
- Reinforcement of aging buildings, masonry, steel, and concrete structures.
- NYC permitting processes and landmark preservation regulations.
