This small consultancy on the outskirts of Norwich is expanding. They are seeking a graduate structural engineer who has at least 2 years’ experience with a strong understanding of design principals.
Our client provides practical, creative and sustainable engineering and, due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their team.
Role Overview:
As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers to deliver high-quality structural designs across various sectors. You will be involved in all stages of the project life cycle, from concept through to completion, gaining hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a real impact on the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and analysis of building structures in a range of materials (concrete, steel, timber, etc.)
- Develop and review structural calculations and drawings
- Contribute to site visits, surveys, and inspections
- Collaborate with the design team, architects, and clients to ensure projects meet technical and regulatory requirements
- Manage and maintain project documentation
- Support senior engineers in the preparation of reports and technical documentation
Key Requirements:
- A degree in Structural Engineering (or closely related field)
- 2-4 years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering
- Familiarity with structural design software (e.g., Tekla, Revit, and/or AutoCAD)
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a small, close-knit team
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow within the practice
- Full UK driving license (due to occasional site visits)
