Senior Structural Engineer (PE) | Charlotte, NC | 8–15+ Years Experience

Structural Engineering | Project Leadership | Building Design | Client Coordination | Revit | Office Growth

We agree your next career move should give you technical autonomy, leadership influence, and a seat at the table. This Senior Structural Engineer opportunity is designed for a North Carolina–licensed PE who wants to do more than just “run calcs” — someone ready to lead projects, collaborate closely with principals, and help shape the growth and culture of a respected, mid-sized structural firm.

You’ll work across a diverse mix of project types while maintaining a healthy, people-first work environment. Here’s a preview:

Why this role stands out:

Lead Projects End-to-End:
Manage multiple structural projects from kickoff through construction, overseeing design, coordination, and delivery while maintaining high technical and drawing standards.

True Design Ownership:
Work hands-on with the drafting and design team to deliver complete structural solutions — not siloed tasks — across a wide range of building types and sizes.

Client & Site Exposure:
Attend client meetings and site visits, working directly with owners, architects, and contractors as a trusted structural advisor.

Collaborative Leadership:
Partner closely with firm principals while mentoring younger engineers and contributingelevating overall technical quality across the team.

Creative Engineering Culture:
Apply innovative, cost-effective, and “outside-the-box” structural solutions — creativity is encouraged, not stifled.

Office Growth Opportunity:
Play a meaningful role in shaping office direction, culture, and long-term success — this is a visible leadership seat, not a back-office role.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Active North Carolina PE license (required)

  • SE License is a plus (not required)

  • 8–15+ years of structural engineering experience

  • Strong background in structural design and project management

  • Experience coordinating with architects, contractors, and owners

  • Proficiency in Revit Structure (preferred)

  • Proven track record of quality work, accountability, and meeting deadlines

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Team-oriented mindset with leadership potential

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience and leadership level

  • Flexible scheduling and strong work-life balance

  • Comprehensive healthcare and paid time off

  • Private office with natural light and modern workstations

  • Continuing education support and regular “lunch & learns”

  • Team-focused culture with company-sponsored events throughout the year

This isn’t just another senior structural role — it’s an opportunity to apply your PE license with real authority, work closely with firm leadership, and help build something long-term in the Charlotte market.
