The Engineering Institute of Technology emerged in 2008 from the foundation established by sister company IDC Technologies. Since 1991, IDC’s portfolio of 300 classroom courses has been attended by over 500,000 engineering professionals worldwide with such clients as NASA, UN, Rolls Royce, Rio Tinto, and BHP. EIT built on this by offering accredited para-professional vocational engineering education and now offers 15 advanced diploma programs, two diplomas, and one vocational graduate certificate with more programs in development.
In 2014, EIT became a nationally registered Higher Education Provider and now delivers four bachelor of science (in engineering) degrees, four master’s degrees, four undergraduate certificates, four graduate certificates, four graduate diplomas and a professional doctor in engineering. These program are offered across key fields of engineering.
In achieving the status of “Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students” (CRICOS), EIT was able to progress its strategic priority of delivering higher education engineering programs to international students on campus in Australia in 2018. Just a few months after establishing relationships with International Education Agents, the first cohort of international students commenced at our Perth Campus in February 2018.
In line with our strategic priorities and market demand, we opened a second campus in Melbourne in February 2019.
Our 2,000 students are mostly working engineering professionals and come from over 140 countries around the world, as well as international students wanting to undertake on-campus education within Australia.
