Founded in 1827, in memory of David Ricardo, the UCL Department of Economics
was one of the first of its kind in England. It has an outstanding
international reputation in key areas of current research. It is the only
department of economics in the UK to have received the outstanding
grade-point average of 3.5 in the 2008 RAE with over 90% of staff
submitted.Â
The wealth and diversity of economic research activity provides students with
