Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role:
Our client, a successful and established engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of interesting, unique, and challenging projects across various sectors, including sport and leisure, healthcare, education, workplace, residential, and more.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting senior staff, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the continued growth of the company. You will have the opportunity to manage and deliver high-quality designs and engineering solutions, while also overseeing the project lifecycle, from initial design through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support senior staff and contribute to the design and delivery of structural engineering projects.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff, sharing your expertise and helping to develop their skills.
- Contribute to business development efforts and actively support the growth of the company’s brand and client base.
- Undertake site visits and produce detailed engineering reports.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and client relationships, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Deliver high-quality structural designs, drawings, and reports, working with materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, timber, and more.
- Design foundations, drainage, and soil structures in line with project requirements.
- Apply relevant codes and standards, including Eurocodes, British Standards, and Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) Regulations.
Skills and Experience Required:
- A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) is essential.
- Chartered status (required).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, TEKLA, and Revit software.
- Extensive experience in designing and delivering structural engineering projects across various sectors.
- Solid knowledge of structural engineering principles, materials, and design codes (Eurocodes, British Standards, CDM regulations).
- Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and client relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
