Do you have the experience and skill needed to work with relative autonomy from home 4 days a week?
Our client has an opportunity for a senior structural engineer for their Midlands team. The role is ideally suited to an experienced engineer who is confident working independently, capable of attending site visits and meetings autonomously, and looking to play a key role within a flexible and collaborative business environment.
The consultancy operates a long-established hybrid working model, with engineers typically working from home four days per week and attending the Birmingham office one day each week. The practice delivers a broad range of projects across the Midlands and London, including residential, education, refurbishment, and new-build developments, with a strong focus on structural alterations and refurbishment work.
Candidates should ideally have 5–10 years’ structural design experience and strong technical knowledge across steelwork, masonry, timber, and foundations. Experience using Tekla Structural Designer or similar FEA software would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and well-established team with the opportunity to work on varied and technically interesting projects from inception through to completion. The consultancy is particularly interested in engineers with a proactive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a highly flexible working structure.
This position has arisen due to continued project growth and offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer seeking greater flexibility, responsibility, and long-term career development outside of a corporate consultancy environment.
