About the Role

As an Engineering/Design Manager, you’ll lead multi-disciplinary rail projects, ensuring innovative, safe, and sustainable design solutions. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Ireland’s rail infrastructure, mentoring teams, managing designs, and providing strategic advice to clients driving significant investment programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and engineering delivery of high-profile rail projects in Ireland.
• Act as the Design/Engineering Manager on complex, multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring seamless coordination across disciplines.
• Oversee and manage the design process, ensuring compliance with standards, client requirements, and best practices.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to deliver efficient, innovative solutions.
• Mentor and manage a team of engineers and discipline leads, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Develop and implement robust quality management systems and technical proposals for new commissions.
• Drive "safe-by-design" principles, ensuring safety is at the core of all designs and delivery processes.
• Provide strategic advice to clients embarking on significant rail investment programmes.

What You’ll Bring

• Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
• 15+ years of experience, primarily in a consultancy environment, with proven expertise in rail engineering.
• Strong technical leadership in rail design and delivery, including BIM Level 2 experience and knowledge of emerging technologies.
• Degree in engineering (Level 8/9), with an excellent understanding of design management processes.
• Effective communication and presentation skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, sustainability, and delivering exceptional results.
• Full driving licence.
