Applications Engineer

Electrical Application Engineer £30-36K + £2.5K annual bonus + Good benefits We have an excellent opportunity for an Application Engineer to join a global designer and manufacturer of innovative special purpose machinery and capital equipment used in various industries As an Application Engineer you will be working in close collaboration with the R&D, sales and product management teams, and will be instrumental in identifying and providing solutions to the customers’ needs. This will include carrying out validation trials on new developments, in-house and worldwide, analysing performance, proposing improvements and modifications where necessary to enhance performance. You would also be expected to demonstrate the company’s equipment to potential clients at the company’s customer centre in London and also at overseas sites. Key Responsibilities for the Application Engineer * Key technical link between our customers and the company’s engineering organisations. * Identification of new product opportunities to grow the business. * Validation of new product developments. * Assist in the recommendation of equipment type to meet customer specifications. * Provide technical support to field service engineers. * Undertake commodity testing in-house and onsite to find best solutions for customers. * Build knowledge base of commodities and the machinery requirements for each commodity. * Demonstrate performance of machines to potential customers in-house and at customer sites worldwide. * Implement modifications to equipment at customer sites. * Assist sales on general enquiries connected with performance and installation of machines. Ideally you should have * A Minimum of 1 year relevant experience as an Application Engineer or a similar customer facing technical position (either gained in an industrial placement or in a post graduation position) * Excellent communication skills and customer service experience * Good Electrical Engineering experience/knowledge * HN/HND or a bachelor degree (or equivalent) in any Electrical/Electronic Engineering related subject * Experience with special purpose machinery would be a distinct advantage, however, not essential To learn more about this opportunity-or any other Applications Engineer, Test engineer positions in London and the South East-please forward your CV Job Type: Permanent.
