Structural Engineer – Liverpool

Key responsibilities:

• Carry out detailed structural design and analysis of steel, concrete and composite structures for medium to high-rise buildings.
• Liaise with steelwork fabricators, contractors and architects to ensure connections (steel-to-steel, steel-to-concrete) are designed for buildability and cost-effectiveness.
• Produce and review structural calculations, drawings and specifications in line with UK regulations, Eurocodes and relevant standards.
• Assist with project delivery ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to BIM coordination and the integration of structural models into multidisciplinary workflows.
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers and technicians.
• Maintain an awareness of health & safety standards, sustainability and innovation within structural engineering practice.

Essential requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Near Chartered status with either the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), and actively working toward chartership.
• Demonstrable experience on high-rise or large-scale building schemes in the UK.
• Strong background in steelwork design, including coordination with fabricators.
• Proficiency with structural design software (for example: Tekla Structural Designer, IdeaStatica) and good knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Working knowledge of Eurocodes and UK Building Regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
