As a senior contributor within our professional consulting services staff, you would work with our geotechnical, structural, civil, cost estimating, and corrosion specialists to plan, design, and construct water and wastewater conveyance systems. As a senior Conveyance Engineer, you will have the opportunity to follow projects from the conceptual phase through the construction phase. You must be a self-motivated individual with a minimum of 15 years of experience within Water and Wastewater Conveyance Engineering, with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and be a registered Professional Engineer (PE).
You will be expected to demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of pipeline design, with particular emphasis on large diameter welded steel pipelines. You must be familiar with various documents including AWWA design manuals and AWWA standards. You will be expected to manage other conveyance and civil engineers, effectively work within a multi-disciplinary team, and effectively work with contractors. The ideal candidate will have a breadth of consulting experience for the design and construction of water conveyance projects, and the desire to grow personally as well as professionally.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Support pipeline design development by providing mid-level and junior engineers with oversight and guidance, as well as training in AWWA design guidelines and procedures
Develop scopes and budgets for tasks in a variety of conveyance projects
Prepare plan-profile drawings and detail drawings and professional sealing of such drawings
Prepare detailed specifications
Execution of conveyance engineering scope for assigned projects
Provide review, quality assurance, and quality control for designs develop by others
A minimum of 15 years of experience with large diameter Water and Wastewater Conveyance Projects
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering is required.
Master’s Degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering is preferred.
Experience working with or for municipal agencies on projects involving utility infrastructure work
Registered Professional Engineer (PE). If not a Washington State PE, must be able to obtain this within one year of hire.
