Jacobs iscurrently interviewing qualified candidates for a Senior Systems Support position supporting our customer in Vienna, VA.Top Secret clearance required in order to be considered.

Anticipated Award Date: June 15, 2020

JobResponsibilities:

  • Serveas Lead or Subject Matter Expert for the Applications Engineering area.

  • Participatein projects to evaluate current environment technology to ensure continualinnovation and optimization of hardware and software.

  • Installnew and/or rebuild servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services,settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards andproject/operational requirements

  • Developand maintain installation and configuration procedures.

  • Install,configure and maintain the IBM DataPower for customer enclaves.

  • Design,test and implement queues and HTTPS/XML communication streams.

  • Leadtroubleshooting efforts for complex, multi-vendor issues independently as wellas working with other technical teams.

  • Staycurrent on new and emerging information sharing and/or industry trends.

  • Planand carry out difficult and complex assignments and develop new methods,approaches, and procedures.

  • Planand implement new and emerging information technologies and/or industry trends;evaluate and recommend adoption of new or enhanced approaches to delivering ITservices.

  • Provideadvice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues.

  • Conductanalyses and recommend resolution of complex issues affecting the specialtyarea.

  • Identifyand define business or technical requirements applied to the design,development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks.

  • ReviewQuotes for the acquisition of IT products or services.

  • Providetechnical leadership on group projects.

  • Evaluateand recommend adoption of new or enhanced approaches to delivering IT services.

  • Applynew developments to previously unsolvable problems.

  • Ensureoptimal use of commercially available products.

  • Providetechnical leadership on group projects.

  • InterpretIT policies, standards, and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with two years ofrelevant experience; OR

  • Bachelor’s degree with four years ofrelevant experience; OR

  • Associate’s degree with six years ofrelevant experience; OR

  • Eight years of relevant experience,unless otherwise noted.

Physical Requirements:

Requires sitting forextended periods of time at a desk (90%). Requires sitting at a computerterminal for long periods of time (90%). There is a possibility that due toparking availability and location of work area walking moderate to longdistances can sometimes be required.

Work Environment:

Equipment and Machines:

Requires ability tooperate a personal computer, a telephone, copier, and other general officeequipment (100%). Ability to conduct evaluation of third and fourth generationor current state of the art computer hardware and software and its ability tosupport specific requirements, interfacing with other equipment and systems.

Attendance:

Attendance is critical.Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday throughFriday. Being prompt is important to provide continuous and on-going service tocustomers. Attendance is important to maintain continuity of service. Workoutside of normal duty hours may be required with as little as one hour advancenotice. Overtime is infrequent, but important when required (1%).

Other EssentialFunctions:

Must be able tocommunicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able tointerface with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be able toobtain unescorted access to work areas. Grooming and dress must be appropriatefor the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee orothers.
