Lead introduction of new products and processes from laboratory scale to manufacturing.
Interface with Research and Development, Technical and Sales Service, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Manufacturing to successfully transfer new products and processes to the plant scale.
Design, perform experiments, and analyze data at laboratory scale and pilot scale to assist with new process scale up and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
Utilize fundamentals of heat transfer, mixing, and mass transfer to solve complex problems.
Understand current manufacturing capabilities and modify process as appropriate. Understand chemistry, process equipment, unit operations, and apply fundamentals to successfully commercialize new products.
Write detailed operating procedures and provide to manufacturing facilities.
Act as a technical resource, providing process and product related technical support to manufacturing sites.
Use Six Sigma tools to ensure product consistently meets target specifications and performance criteria at pilot and production scale.
Manage and prioritize several projects at various stages of new product introduction.
Responsible for introduction of new raw materials to manufacturing sites; select most effective raw material supplier and participates in safety reviews.
Organize data and write technical reports and presentations.
Independently identifies fundamental problems in process operations and/or new product scale up function and creatively solves these problems to expand the knowledge base of the organization. Leverages these solutions to others in the function globally.
Provides technical mentorship to less experienced individuals in the organization.

Chemical Engineering degree preferred.
Pilot plant or scale up experience highly desired.
Manufacturing experience desired.
Polymer synthesis experience desired.
5-10 years of experience in a related field and/or advanced degree.
Six Sigma experience a plus.
