Process Engineering: Requires the ability to identify and resolve issues within a process, such as furnace combustion, baghouses, and dry product material handling equipment. Requires an understanding of how the complete process works, and how changing a process condition on one or more pieces of equipment affects other upstream and downstream processes and outputs.
Highly desired are skills/experience with:
Furnaces, i.e. heat processes in general.
Dry material transfer systems, i.e. belts, screw conveyors, elevators, blowers, etc.
Grinding processes, i.e. ball mills, pulvasizers, impactors, vibratory screens.
Project Engineering: Requires understanding all of the steps involved in designing and developing a project from concept to completion namely feasibility studies, equipment selection, economic viability and project management.
Secondarily, Environmental Engineering: Managing our NDEP Air Quality program, includes submitting permit modifications, collecting plant wide data for monitoring processes, annual emissions reporting, scheduling and assisting in environmental testing of baghouses by outside independent source for baghouses.
The ideal candidate would possess a four year/Bachelor of Science Degree in chemical, mechanical, or metallurgical engineering with 5 to 7 years of process engineering experience, along with 2 to 3 years of project engineering experience in additional to experience in industrial minerals.
Education & Experience:
Minimum10 years of experience in manufacturing environment (preferably lime/cement industry and/or kilns) with at least 5 of those 10 years managing subordinate department managers/supervisors.
Preferred degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering a plus but not required.
Language Skills: Comprehensive demonstrated skills in communicating effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
Mathematical Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage and plan budgets.
Reasoning Ability: Demonstrated problem solving and business decision making.
Physical Demands: Ability to walk distances & climb stairs
Work Environment: Use of hearing, eye and respiratory protection as required.
