Your Role:

We are currently seeking a Product Development Engineer II to work within MilliporeSigma Process Solutions Filtration R&D in Bedford, MA. As part of our R&D organization, the successful candidate will be developing novel products used in the processing and purification of biopharmaceutical products. This candidate will be a contributing member within a technical team responsible for development and validation of filtration products and their manufacturing processes, including transfer to production facilities. This position offers the opportunity to apply solid engineering principles to lead and support product development teams to conceptualize, design, prototype, evaluate and validate filtration products using current and new manufacturing processes. This position works cross-functionally with a team including R&D, Manufacturing, Quality and Procurement through development and validation phases to support successful product launches.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masterโ€™s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline


  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • New product or process development experience
  • Medical device or biopharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience with writing technical reports, presentations, or other manufacturing documentation
  • Good understanding of polymeric materials and manufacturing techniques (e.g. injection molding, extrusion, heat bonding and ultrasonic bonding), as well as thermoplastics
  • Experience in design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis methods.
  • Controls engineering experience
  • Sensor design and/or application experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to drive for solutions to complex problems
  • Hands-on technical skills in a lab and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate across various levels and departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to interact effectively with people in all areas of the company including R&D, plant operations, quality, purchasing, and product management
