This role will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of digital consoles and tour sound equipment used in professional audio applications. The candidate will provide technical telephone, email, and field support for end-users, field support personnel, dealers, and representatives. In addition, the candidate would be required to provide technical sales support.
This position does not have any direct or indirect reports.
Meet with customers, potential customers and distributors to review and discuss needs and requirements.
Analyze product and system requirements, provide information and advice related to performance, specifications, software architecture and other components and cost.
Provide telephone and field support when necessary.
Perform quality control inspections of incoming products to ensure that product meets manufacturer’s specifications and functionality before delivery to customers.
Repair and test customer credit returns.
Create fault analysis reports to feedback potential quality problems to the manufacturers.
Perform software and hardware upgrades as recommended by HQ CSD and R&D.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to connectivity, TCP/IP, and applications.
Perform emergency telephone or field support at short notice under time critical situations. These may be incurred outside of normal business hours.
Install and support sales in the commissioning process of new consoles.
Provide training of internal technical support staff, distributors, dealers, and end-users as necessary.
Support Sales staff, with technical advice and possible solutions for new sales and system upgrades
Perform equipment demonstrations and presentations
AS degree with related work experience is required.
Must possess strong theoretical and practical knowledge of electronics. Troubleshoot to component level analog and digital circuits is an advantage.
Advanced knowledge of the design and engineering of complex electronic products, their electronic circuitry and circuit boards, their processors and system architecture, and digital signal processing.
Training will be provided, however a good level of experience in the Sound Reinforcement, Installed Sound/Contracting, Broadcast Sound, Theater or Live Sound business is required.
Must be self-motivated, with ability to work from remote locations and with minimum direct supervision.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be detail oriented and well organized.
Must be a team player that enjoys working within a small group, meeting customer demands.
Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
Knowledge of PC hardware, software and IP infrastructure an advantage. 3-4 years’ work experience in related field with knowledge of the Professional Audio Industry is preferred
Knowledge of SAP, Sales Force and MS Dynamics an advantage
BS degree in a technical field (electrical or software) is preferred
Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA.
