We are currently looking for a Faro Arm Instrumentation Technician for our Pump Quick Response Center in Leduc, Alberta. The selected candidate will communicate with internal contacts such as customer service, sales, engineering, and manufacturing. Incumbent functions independently with direction and guidance of a manager. The duties include but are not limited to:

Ability to create Faro Arm dimensional reports.

Ability to read and understand technical drawings.

Develop quality standards, testing procedures, test reporting formats and train personnel as appropriate.

Organizes and updates electronic document management system

Onsite data collection at both customer and Flowserve sites

Record measurements using precision tools like micrometers, calipers, thread gages, etc.

Read and interpret machine drawings and Bill of Materials

Operate hand held material analyzer

Operate ultrasound thickness gage

Maintain hardware and software for laser scanning systems

Assist Field Services with Laser Tracker scanning projects as needed

Design engineering as needed Acquire geometry of product or objects for Reverse Engineering or Inspection as requested

Position Requirements:

Faro Arm experience is required.

Experience working with engineering specifications, industry standards, and customer specifications and requirements to inspect a wide of variety of parts, materials and components

Experience and proficiency in the use of dimensional inspection tools and gauges.

Must be computer literate with strong written and verbal communications skills to record inspection results.

Self-starter and team player with ability to multi-task and prioritize work day/projects independently.

Mathematical aptitude required.

Impeccable attention to detail a must.

Knowledge of blueprint reading, ability to pull and interpret prints, diagrams, routings and procedures required, pump mechanics, and impeller geometry dynamics

Skills and knowledge required to use precision measuring tools and equipment

One year 3D CAD experience and proficiency

Faro Laser Tracker experience

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office suite software

Preferences:

2 years + FARO Arm experience

NDI OptoTrak and Faro Laser Tracker experience

Geomagic experience preferred

Re-engineering and 3D CMM laser scanning

Perform 3D laser scanning of pump components

Process 3D point cloud data for re-engineering and inspection

Create parametric 3D CAD models and drawings

Create 3D models from Flowserve drawings and data collection

Understanding of metal fabrication and/or machining industry.

Machining and rotating equipment knowledge recommended, but not required

Completed Inventor Essentials training course or equivalent skills
