Your Role:

Our company is developing novel ultrasound platform technologies to enable automated manufacturing of cell and gene therapies. The technologies comprise patented acousto-fluidic systems and reagents for cell processing such as labeled and label-free cell selection, concentration and washing, activation, transduction, expansion. Our team needs an enthusiastic Bioengineer/Bioprocess Engineer/Biomedical scientist with core knowledge in upstream and downstream bioprocess unit operations.

You will:

  • Be an independent thinker, innovator, contributor to the development of equipment and processes that will drive the MilliporeSigma Cell and Gene Therapy manufacturing franchise
  • Drive and execute process development activities including but not limited to design of experiments, data analysis, post processing and presentation of data
  • Write reports, contribute to Intellectual Property, and publish papers as needed
  • Be comfortable working in a matrix environment
  • Report to colleagues and management in a timely manner

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Biology, or other life science degree OR Biochemical, Biomedical, or Bioprocess Engineering, or other engineering degree
  • 2+ years of product engineering, design work, or other engineering experience in the life science industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using acoustic cell processing devices
  • Experience in one or more unit operations in cell and gene therapy, e.g. affinity cell purification, viral transduction, cell expansion
  • Self-motivated with strong curiosity and driven to take on broader responsibilities around technology development
  • Strong knowledge in upstream and/or downstream bioprocess unit operations for mammalian cell or cell and gene therapy workflows
