Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
List the roles and responsibilities of the position.
1- Under minimal supervision, reaches out to customers and translates their present and future needs into short- and long-term action plans.
Collaborate with global and local stakeholders to lead the implementation and/or maintenance of the R&D Data Management tools.
Define current state of R&D Data Management and develops and/or maintains a system suitable to current industry standards.
Support technical training of team members, suggesting best ways to increase data and technology acumen
Promote the cultural & mindset shift towards Digital Innovation, value creation and support the establishment of a Data Ownership Mindset
Acquire, lead, partner and manage internal/external resources that contribute to the different Digital initiatives in the Data and Analytics
2- Serve as data analytics SME in support of management and process-scientists of all R&D areas. Work through complex data analysis.
Leverage opportunities to apply advanced analytics techniques to internal and external data sources and provide innovative approaches to generate insights.
3- Driven by Quality by Design (QbD) principles, develop process improvement strategies for data generation, interpretation, and solutions generation.
4- Responsible for analyzing complex data, visualize bioprocess data to detect correlations, anticipate potential opportunities for yield and quality improvements and escalating findings to R&D areas of ownership.
Collaborate with process/product SMEs by utilizing data analytics tools to support root-cause analysis, process characterization, optimization, validation, process performance monitoring, and continued process verification.
Collaborate with SME’s to strategize, design, and implement remedial actions and monitor resolution.
5- Required to maintain an appropriate level of documentation and communication through timely and thorough drafting and execution of protocols and reports.
6- Required to maintain an awareness of and compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices.
7- May be required to complete any other duties/responsibilities assigned by management.
Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
BS/BA, MS, Ph.D. in science-related fields such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioprocess Engineering, Mathematics. An interdisciplinary education that combines Life-Sciences and data analytics (e.g., Predictive Analytics) is preferred.
7+ years’ experience with proven technical leadership roles in project deliveries and data analysis for process development or manufacturing support.
Possesses knowledge and experience in design of data analytics systems in similar industry.
People leadership skills/experience
Experienced and proficient in statistical analysis.
Experience in Quality by Design topics in biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
Experience with analytical engines such as LIMS, R, SAS, JMP or/and SIMCA, is required.
Hands-on analytical skills in predictive and prescriptive modeling, machine learning, data mining, time series forecasting and optimization algorithms
Strong analytical & process design skills.
Display effective organization skills, managing multiple and competing priorities and coaching others to improve these skills.
Technology and Data savviness, connected to latest technology trends and data driven mindset
Previous experience in a Data Science/Analytics role.
Ability to effectively communicate and influence others across ALL levels of the organization in order to drive transformational change
General understanding of biological systems, protein chemistry and separation principles.
Ability to foster innovation and generation of minimum viable products
Intermediate Relational Database knowledge (normalization, optimization, etc.)
Knowledge of non-relational databases.
